Non-Toxic

A non-toxic product is one that does not contain substances, chemicals, or resins that can be harmful to human health when ingested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin.

Note:

But we must be blunt here. Toxicity testing is still often performed on animals like rabbits, mice, and rats to evaluate the potential harm of a substance to humans and (ironically) the environment. This is explicitly mentioned in the CPSC definition which states that certain tests on animals are done to “determine whether a product can cause immediate injury.”

This has given rise to alternatives to animal testing, such as the use of cell cultures, human tissues, computer models, and human volunteer studies. These methodologies are slowly replacing traditional animal testing. They even have the potential to be quicker, cheaper, or more accurate alternatives. That’s why some companies go as far as explicitly specifying that their products are also cruelty-free.
