A circular economy, or circularity, involves the sharing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling of existing materials and products to increase their lifecycle as long as possible. It aims to serve as a model for continuing production and consumption in an environmentally friendly way.

Driven by design, the three main principles of circularity are (1) the elimination of waste and pollution, (2) the circulation of products and materials at their highest value possible, and (3) the regeneration of nature.
